Return of the Mysterious Margiela
Fashion's most elusive designer Martin Margiela (whose creations are pictured) celebrated the 20th anniversary of his label Maison Martin Margiela yesterday with a typically surreal show featuring models whose faces were covered in stockings or wigs and bodies hidden in beige full-body 'unitards'.
The Belgian - who has not granted a single interview or been photographed for any magazine in his two-decade career - celebrated his anniversary by recreating some of his favourite designs. These included deconstructed shirts and back-to-front coats.
Other shows yesterday included Balenciaga, where Nicolas Ghesquiere seemed inspired by Logan's Run with a Sixties sci-fi collection that featured silver tunic dresses and metallic leggings.
