M&S model Lily Cole models for French Playboy

Lily Cole, the English model and actress, has claimed that her appearance nude in the French edition of Playboy magazine (left) is not pornography but art. Cole, 20, who is one of the faces of Marks & Spencer (right), said the 14-page shoot was inspired by the cover of French musician Serge Gainsbourg's 1971 album Histoire de Melody Nelson.

She said: "Nudity has always existed in art, and I think that, given the right conditions, it doesn't necessarily 'debase' any more than it celebrates or represents the human body."
