In brief: Andrea Corr makes her debut in West End play

Andrea Corr (pictured), of the Irish rock band the Corrs, is to make her London stage debut at the Old Vic starring alongside Niamh Cusack in Brian Friel's Olivier award-winning play Dancing at Lughnasa. The 34-year-old singer will play one of five sisters in the production, which is described as "a bittersweet reflection of rural Ireland in the Thirties on the brink of industrialisation"……………Also on this year's Old Vic programme, which is overseen by artistic director Kevin Spacey, are two plays directed by Hollywood director Sam Mendes, The Cherry Orchard by Anton Chekhov and Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale. His cast will include Ethan Hawke, Sinead Cusack and Simon Russell Beale.............Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan is being sued by three men whose car she allegedly hijacked and took on a high-speed chase. The trio claim Lohan allegedly commandeered the vehicle in July 2007 to chase her recently fired personal assistant through the streets of Santa Monica. At the time, Lohan was arrested and pleaded guilty to two counts of being under the influence of cocaine, for which she served 84 minutes in jail. The plaintiffs are seeking at least $25,000 in damages..............Little Britain star Matt Lucas dissolved his civil partnership to Kevin McGee at London's family court yesterday. In an uncontested case, Lucas was granted a dissolution on the grounds of unreasonable behaviour by McGee, who is rumoured to have received £1m from Lucas as a settlement………….David Duchovny, the star of the X Files and Californication, is suing the Daily Mail over a story suggesting he cheated on his wife, Tea Leoni, with a tennis player. The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleges defamation and invasion of privacy. Duchovny is seeking $1 million in damages…………Rock group Guns N' Roses are finally releasing a new album after keeping fans waiting for 17 years. Called Chinese Democracy, it cost in excess of $6m to make and had been dubbed the "most expensive album never made"………….
