Candy bros sell yacht at discount price

The Candy brothers, the sharp-suited London property developers who have been hit harder than most by the global financial meltdown, are selling their 146ft yacht 'Candyscape 1' at a big discount. Originally there were asking €15.5 million, but now they are happy to accept offers of around €12.9m mark.

However, Nick Candy (pictured) claims the sale is not down to necessity and the boat is only being sold to finance a new one. "We will sell Candyscape 1 if we get the right price or will keep it if we do not. I have reduced it, though, to be competitive at this current time against other boats."

Nick and his brother Christian Candy have spent millions refurbishing the vessel to their own design. One of the lavatories is lined in leather taken from antique Louis Vuitton suitcases. It is presently moored in Monaco, from where it can be chartered for around £100,000 a week.
