David Blunkett: correction
On Tuesday December 2, The First Post carried an item which stated that David Blunkett had secured a UK work visa for a nanny working for Kimberley Quinn, the former publisher of the Spectator, and that this had subsequently led to his resignation as Home Secretary in 2004.
We acknowledge that this was not correct. The issue in question was the renewal of an existing visa for Mrs Quinn's nanny. Furthermore an inquiry into the matter undertaken by Sir Alan Budd established that Mr Blunkett was not involved in securing the visa at any stage.
