Tom Cruise is reported to have alerted the FBI after receiving a number of death threats due to his belief in Scientology. The Mail on Sunday claims that because of the threats Cruise now lives in a separate location to his wife Katie Holmes (pictured with her husband) and their two-year-old daughter Suri, and that the couple travel in bomb-proof cars…………. Steven Gerrard, the England midfielder and Liverpool captain, was arrested early this morning following a brawl outside at a night-spot in Southport, Lancashire. Merseyside Police said the 28-year-old was held on suspicion of assault, along with five other men............Harold Pinter, the Nobel Prize-winning playwright who died on Christmas Eve aged 78 after a long battle with cancer, will be buried on Wednesday in a small private funeral attended by family and close friends. The dramatist has been mourned as far afield as Cuba, where his photograph was shown with the slogan ‘Harold Pinter Amigo de Communista’ on state television............ David Dimbleby, the veteran BBC presenter, is attempting to stop a plan to build more than 500 homes near his £1.5m country home in East Sussex, which he says would amount to "vandalism"…………John Lennon is to feature in a US television advertisement for the One Laptop Per Child initiative, which aims to deliver solar-powered computers to the world's poorest children. "Imagine every child, no matter where in the world they were, could access a universe of knowledge," says a computer generated image of the former Beatle, who was shot dead in New York in 1980………… Rachel Riley, the 22-year-old Oxford graduate who took over from Carol Vorderman on the Channel 4 quiz show Countdown, is said to be having difficulty in her new job. A source told the News of the World: "If the contestants couldn't solve a problem Carol would quickly do it for them. But during the filming for her first 15 episodes the new girl [Riley] made some mistakes" ……….
