Ann Coulter savages Michelle Obama’s style

Ann Coulter (right), the right-wing political polemicist and US TV pundit, has thrown a well-aimed knife into the back of Michelle Obama (left). It comes in her latest book, Guilty: Liberal 'Victims' and their Assault on America, in which she diverts her pen from the book's main argument – that the liberal left play the victims when in fact they are the victimisers – to berate the soon-to-be First Lady's fashion sense.

Writes Coulter: "Her obvious imitation of Jackie O's style - the flipped-under hair, the sleeveless A-line dresses, the short strands of fake pearls - would have been laughable if done by anyone other than a media-designated saint."

She adds that this was in stark contrast to Cindy McCain, the wife of the failed Republican candidate John McCain, who "dressed well without freakishly imitating famous First Ladies in history."

And the President-elect comes off no better. Coulter repeatedly refers to him as "B. Hussein Obama", supposedly to emphasise his Muslim antecedents, and complains that the media "literally wanted to have sex with him".
