In brief: Paltrow offers health tips

Gwyneth Paltrow, keen to share her thoughts on post-Christmas detoxing, is guilty of offering too much information. In her weekly newsletter for her lifestyle site Goop , the Oscar-winning actress (pictured) writes: "If your bowel movements get sluggish, you can accelerate things by drinking half a cup of castor oil or using a mild herbal laxative. Bowel elimination is paramount for correct detoxification"………… Andrew Sachs, the Fawlty Towers actor, is to appear in the ITV soap opera Coronation Street - proof that the 78-year-old has received several job offers since hitting the headlines last year after Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross left obscene messages on his voicemail………… Leona Lewis, the former pizza waitress who won ITV's The X Factor in 2007, and is now a global star after selling five million copies of her debut album Spirit, has been commissioned by Hodder & Stoughton to write her autobiography............The MBE medal that John Lennon famously rejected and sent back to the Queen in 1969, as a protest against the UK's stance on the war in Vietnam, has been unearthed in a vault in St James' Palace………… John Travolta's 16-year-old son Jett, who died last week following a brain seizure, was cremated yesterday on Grand Bahaman Island. It had been thought that his body had been flown back to the US on Monday - a black vehicle travelled from the funeral home to the airport – but it now appears this was done to divert the world's media. Jett's ashes will transported back to Travolta's family home in Florida…………
