Ann Coulter’s voting habits investigated

Ann Coulter (pictured), the right-wing political polemicist and US television pundit, has, unsurprisingly, already made enemies in the new White House - the main one being Michelle Obama, whose fashion sense she berated recently in her book, Guilty: Liberal 'Victims' and their Assault on America, saying that the First Lady's "flipped-under hair", "sleeveless A-line dresses" and "fake pearls" would be "laughable if done by anyone other than a media-designated saint".

Now she may get her comeuppance. According to a report in the New York Daily News, she is being investigated by the Elections Enforcement Commission who are following up a claim made by Coulterwatch.com, a blog that denounces her every public utterance, that she broke the law by voting in the state of Connecticut while living in New York City.

Dan Borchers, who posted the accusatory blog, is delighted by the turn of events. "For over 10 years, Ann Coulter has gotten away with illegal, immoral and unethical behavior, ranging from plagiarism to defamation, perjury to voter fraud," he wrote.

Borchers, who describes himself as a "Vietnam-era military veteran" and "intelligence analyst", is the founder of a group called Citizens for Principled Conservatism, which aims to root out "extremist elements", presumably meaning 47-year-old Coulter.

Coulter has refused to comment so far, and the two have some history. In the past, she has branded him a stalker, although he claims the FBI have determined that he poses no threat to her. Until now, perhaps.
