Gisele wedding sees ‘photographers shot at’

Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady

A security man hired for the wedding in Costa Rica of Gisele Bundchen, the world’s highest-paid supermodel, and the New England Patriots’ quarterback Tom Brady, appears to have taken his duties a little too seriously, if reports from Mal Pais are anything to go by. The couple had an exclusive deal in place with an as yet unnamed Brazilian magazine for wedding photos. When a pair of freelance photographers showed up at Bundchen’s beachfront villa and tried to take un unauthorised pictures on Saturday, they claim they were shot at.

According to a police complaint filed by one of the AFP Central America photographers, Yuri Cortez, the back window of their Suzuki 4x4 was shot out as they tried to drive away after an argument with Bundchen’s security men. Cortez’s colleague, Rolando Aviles, told the New York Post: "The bullet went between us, missing our heads. If the bullet been a little more to the left or right, it would have killed one of us."

Cortez said: “I could have lost my life for the sale of some pictures that Gisele didn't want published. Are they insane?”

The couple (pictured), who have not commented on the report, had already married officially at an intimate Roman Catholic church ceremony in California five weeks before. They were holding a second wedding for 25 friends and family members at the Mal Pais home built by the supermodel’s former boyfriend Leonardo DiCaprio, whom she dated on and off for five years until 2005.

According to People magazine, Gisele wore a silk gown by British designer John Galliano and a 10ft veil. Among those in attendance was Brady’s 20-month-old son John Edward Moynahan, whose mother is the footballer’s former partner, I, Robot actress Bridget Moynahan.
