In Town Last Night: Elle and Agyness light up Gap launch
Gap's Red range launch brought out the brightest stars in fashion's firmament. The collection, curated by Pop magazine editor Katie Grand, was unveiled at east London's Bistrotheque in front of designers Giles Deacon and Stephen Jones, party-girl-around-town Elle Macpherson (above, left), and newly crowned model of the year Agyness Deyn (above, right).
The Red initiative, which started in January 2006, was the brainwave of U2 frontman Bono and Kennedy scion Bobby Shriver. They teamed up with corporations such as American Express, Apple and Motorola to sell branded goods, with up to half of the profits going to the Global Fund to Fight Aids, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
Gap Red has recently run an ad campaign in the US, with Dixie Chick Natalie Maines, which exhorts consumers to 'Change the World'.
