Keira picks up the baton of nudity from Charlotte Rampling

Days after the British film actress Charlotte Rampling announced she would not be appearing in any more nude scenes, the American magazine Interview has come out with a set of near-naked photos of 22-year-old Keira Knightley - with one shot (above left) looking distinctly like it was influenced by the famous Rampling pose for The Night Porter (above right).

Knightley, most recently seen in the British film adaptation of the Ian McEwan novel Atonement, stripped off for London photographer Sam Taylor Wood. In one photo, she wears black stilettos, knickers, a flimsy top and her trademark pout - though rather awkwardly posed to accentuate her muscular legs.

Asked by Interview, the monthly magazine founded by Andy Warhol in 1969, whether Knightley felt responsible for girls becoming anorexic, she said: "No because I have no control over it. You could say 'You're responsible for girls being anorexic because you are thin', but I can't be anything I'm not.

"I don't believe in role models. I don't believe that any person can be put up there as being better than any other person."
