In Brief: are Sir Paul and Lulu dating?

Mystery surrounds reports in the showbiz newspaper Variety and on various foreign websites that Sir Paul Cartney and Lulu are dating; the Beatles and Liverpudlian Lulu were close in the 1960s when they were first starting out on the music scene ... Actor and film producer Drew Barrymore is making her directorial debut: Whip It! will tell the story of a reluctant beauty-pageant contestant who joins a roller derby team... Meanwhile Madonna's directorial debut, a low-budget music-based comedy Filth and Wisdom starring Richard E Grant, will get its world premiere at the Berlin film festival next month... Chef Jamie Oliver is facing another embarrassment over his factory farming campaign after it emerged that one of his restaurants served eggs from battery chickens... The Rolling Stones are preparing to follow Sir Paul McCartney and Radiohead and abandon EMI. The new owners of the crisis-stricken record label, Terra Firma and its boss Guy Hands, are striving to cut costs amid an artists' revolt... Meanwhile Radiohead was forced to abandon an impromptu gig in an East London record shop and move it to a nearby club after nearly 1,500 fans turned up... Diana's former butler Paul Burrell yesterday told the inquest into her death that he did not believe the Duke of Edinburgh would have described Dodi Fayed as an "oily bedhopper"; Burrell said: "I don't think these are his words... He's a decent man"... Music legend Ike Turner died last month of a cocaine overdose, the San Diego medical examiner's office has concluded...
