Jenna Bush sets wedding date
While the world waits to hear whether French President Nicolas Sarkozy and his exotic girlfriend Carla Bruni have actually got married - or are going to before they come to stay with the Queen in March - another First Family is getting on with it. Jenna Bush, one of George Bush's twin daughters, is to marry Henry Hager on May 10.
Jenna, 26, is not crossing party lines: her 29-year-old fiance has been a White House aide - to Bush's controversial strategist Karl Rove - and worked on President Bush's re-election campaign, while his father John is a Republican stalwart, being party chairman in Virginia and a former Virginia lieutenant governor.
According to reports, the couple have decided against a White House wedding and will instead marry in a private ceremony on the Bushes' 1,600-acre ranch in Crawford, Texas.
Like her father, Jenna was known for a heavy partying lifestyle when she was younger. With her twin, Barbara, she once had to be asked by the US embassy to leave Buenos Aires after a drinking spree attracted too much attention.
But she has changed her ways since becoming an intern for UNICEF. After a spell in Panama in 2006 she wrote a book, Ana's Story: A Journey of Hope, telling of a 17-year-old single mother who is HIV-positive. Last week she was in Peru visiting the ancient Incan capital of Cuzco.
Back in Washington, she teaches at an elementary school - just like her mother, Laura Bush.
