Steve Coogan, whose previous girlfriends include Courtney Love, is said to be preparing to propose to actress China Chow, whose father Michael runs the Mr Chow restaurant chain; friends say Chow is helping Coogan - one of the hits of Sundance with his new film Hamlet 2 - focus on becoming a "big comedy star" in the States... The family of Bobby Fischer are challenging the chess mastermind's million-pound estate, claiming that he never married his widow Miyoko Watai and that the money should go to his two nephews; adding to the confusion are reports of a seven-year-old daughter whom Fischer is said to have fathered in the Philippines... BBC news presenter Kate Silverton is threatening to sue a leading Harley Street doctor, Jan Stanek, after routine laser surgery left her face so badly marked she was unable to work... Christian Brando, troubled son of Marlon Brando, has died from pneumonia in Los Angeles at the age of 49. He had small roles in a handful of films including 1968's I Love You, Alice B Toklas! but was best known for his brushes with the law; he spent five years in jail after pleading guilty to manslaughter in 1990 for killing his sister's boyfriend at the Brando family's estate...
