Westwood rocks Fashion Week

Dame Vivienne Westwood returned to London Fashion Week after a nine-year absence with a potent collection that mixed sex and politics. The iconic designer opened her Red Label show on Thursday night with a model wearing Guantanamo-orange underpants emblazoned with the slogan 'Fair Trial My Arse'. And while most freebie bags at fashion shows are filled with free lipsticks and lollipops, Westwood's contained petitions and charitable donation forms.

In a stunning show at the Old Sorting House in central London, the godmother of punk's latest collection - microskirts and minidresses worn with knee-high leather boots - was pure rock'n'roll. Models for Westwood included Lily Donaldson and Daisy Lowe.

Earlier in the day, red-carpet queen Jenny Packham showed off some breathtaking ballgowns while fellow British designer Luella Bartley unveiled a collection inspired by witchcraft and pixies. Her high-waisted trousers, short dresses and bell-style layered skirts in colours ranged from girly peach to gothic black. London Fashion Week finishes today with nearly 60 designers having shown their autumn-winter collections.
