In Town Last Night: novelists celebrate the Nibbies

One of the more glitzy events in the literary calendar came to Grosvenor House, Park Lane last night - the Galaxy British Books Awards 2008. Hitting the red carpet at the 'Nibbies', as they're affectionately known, were fiction money-spinners JK Rowling (pictured left, with Neil Murray), who was awarded the gong for outstanding achievement, and Kite Runner author Khaled Hosseini, who won 'best read of the year' for his second novel, A Thousand Splendid Suns. Other guests included singer Alesha Dixon (right) and buxom celeb-turned-author Katie Price.
