In brief: Sofia Coppola mugged in Paris

Filmmaker Sofia Coppola has been mugged in the prestigious Parisian department store Bon Marche; the thieves went on a £3,000 spending spree with her credit cards... A nude photograph of France’s first lady Carla Bruni by Michel Comte was auctioned at Christie’s, New York on Thursday for $91,000 - more than 20 times its pre-sale estimate; it was bought by an unnamed Chinese collector - there was no comment from President Nicolas Sarkozy’s office...
