In brief: Levinson’s Hollywood satire to close Cannes festival

The Hollywood satire What Just Happened?, directed by Barry Levinson (right) and starring Robert de Niro (left), Sean Penn, Bruce Willis and Catherine Keener, has been selected to close the 2008 Cannes Film Festival, despite receiving a mixed response at Sundance in January; the rest of the Cannes line-up will be announced on April 23... The New York judge in the JK Rowling copyright trial has told the author that her Harry Potter storylines are "gibberish"... Meanwhile Harry Potter star Emma Watson, 18, has been signed to star in new period romance Napoleon and Betsy after Scarlett Johansson was deemed too old for the part... Veteran Labour MP Gwyneth Dunwoody, the longest-serving female MP in Parliament, has died at the age of 77... Pete Doherty, currently serving a 14 week sentence in Wormwood Scrubs, has reportedly been moved to a segregated prison cell for his own safety....
