In brief: Uma to testify against stalker

Uma Thurman (pictured) is expected to testify in a Manhattan criminal court this week against Jack Jordan, who is accused of stalking the Kill Bill actress for two years... David Bailey's recent photo shoot with William Hague, as part of a series of portraits of British politicians for GQ, was reportedly a lively affair, with the legendary Sixties photographer telling the shadow Foreign Secretary: "I hate fucking politicians"…The Berlin Philharmonic's players have voted to keep Sir Simon Rattle, despite fears that the British conductor would be ousted over his new season programme which will have them playing Stockhausen in an aircraft hanger... Alan Bennett's novel The Uncommon Reader, which sees the Queen visit a travelling library, has been shortlisted for a comic fiction prize. Other authors up for the Bollinger Everyman Wodehouse award, which will be announced at the Hay literary Festival next month, include Will Self and Garrison Keillor... Diana's former butler Paul Burrell is reportedly planning to build his own "royal palace" worth £10m in Florida..... New Line Cinema, the studio behind the movie version of Sex and the City are spurning the "fifth character" New York City to hold the world premiere in London; the film's stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon are all expected to be in Leicester Square on May 12...
