Little Britain star hunted by stalker

David Walliams, one half of the comedy duo behind Little Britain, is attempting to place a restraining order on an obsessive fan who he claims has spent the last four years stalking him. Sarah Bartholomew, 29, sent a string of "overtly sexual" emails to the actor. These were harmless enough – one said: "I'd rip off your pants in a sexual frenzy. You can have me how you want - I'm ever so bendy". She also sent Walliams (pictured above with Naomi Campbell) underwear, cuddly toys, chocolates, a Doctor Who book and DVDs of the 1970s sitcom Are You Being Served?.

However, her admiration for Walliams quickly escalated to her visiting his home. At this point Walliams instructed his solicitors to warn her off. Then the emails became threatening. An email sent to his agent Carl Hill read: "David knows what's coming to him," and added that "a big mistake had been made". Bartholomew, a veterinary nurse from Clacton-On-Sea, Essex, was then arrested for harassment.

"Mr Walliams is a comedian on TV and it would seem that Miss Bartholomew has somehow become obsessed with Mr Walliams," his lawyer told Highbury Corner Magistrates Court yesterday. "She turned up at his place of work, she has been outside his home address and she has contacted his agent Carl Hill." A decision on the restraining order will be made on Friday
