In brief: Gisele way out in front as world’s wealthiest model

Business-savvy Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen (right) - who famously asked to be paid in euros rather than US dollars - has been named by Forbes as the world's best-paid model with annual earnings of $35m; trailing well behind her is Heidi Klum (left) with $14m, followed by Kate Moss who earned $7m last year... The Royal Shakespeare Company’s contemporary production of The Taming of the Shrew at Stratford-upon-Avon has turned into a bloody affair: Stephen Boxer, playing Petruchio, was admitted to hospital after being injured in a violent fracas at the start of the play... French footballer turned bit-part actor actor Eric Cantona - who uttered one line in Cate Blanchett's first Elizabeth film - has received rave reviews for a French TV thriller, Papillon Noir ('Black Butterfly'), in which a grizzly-bearded Eric swims across a lake in his underpants... The Home Office has lodged a second appeal against US rapper Snoop Dogg - arrested at Heathrow airport after a fracas in 2006 - in an attempt to prevent him entering Britain, after twice being overruled by immigration judges... Sexual harassment is a family affair in the Rob Lowe household, it seems. While the former brat-pack star is already being sued by one former nanny over allegations of misconduct, another ex-nanny has come forward and accused Lowe’s wife of sexual harassment... Few will be surprised to learn that the company which owns the rights to Jimi Hendrix’s back catalogue, Experience Hendrix, has said that a sex tape showing the rock icon in bed with two women is a fake... Time magazine has published its list of the 100 most influential people. An indication of how serious this should be taken is illustrated, perhaps, by the inclusion of Miley Cyrus, whose only palpable achievement has been to have posed for Annie Leibovitz in a bed sheet for this month’s Vanity Fair...
