In Town Last Night: the Royal Caledonian Ball

Annual charity bash the Royal Caledonian Ball began way back in the 1840s and was still going strong last Friday night. Bringing some traditional Scottish pomp to the Grosvenor House Hotel Park Lane, it was a prime opportunity for aristos and society types to dust off those kilts, ball gowns and regimentals, and then get nicely sozzled and attempt the Highland Fling.
