Tevez fires Man Utd through

Manchester United 5 Blackburn 3. Four goals from Carlos Tevez at Old Trafford saw Man Utd through to the semi-finals of the Carling Cup last night after a spirited Blackburn fightback. "There was plenty for United supporters to relish last night as Tevez helped them into the semi-finals and Paul Ince became the target of sustained and voluble criticism from Blackburn's small band of fans," reports the Guardian. "Not many visiting teams score three goals at Old Trafford but the game was never close. Blackburn were 2-0 and 4-1 down and the second half had become an exercise in damage limitation before an experimental United side were guilty, perhaps, of complacency."
