Juventus join chase for Michael Owen

Juventus have added their name to the growing list of clubs who want to prise Michael Owen away from beleaguredNewcastle. The Turin giants, who tried to sign Owen when he moved to Real Madrid in 2004, have joined Genoa, another Serie A side, in making an approach for the 29-year-old striker. Owen, who has said he wants Champions League football, has also been linked with Inter Milan, Manchester City, Everton and Spurs. Juventus are also reportedly prepared to bid £20 million for Jermain Defoe.
