Milner signs for Villa

Aston Villa have signed James Milner from Newcastle in a deal believed to be worth around £11m after the player announced he wanted to leave St Pames Park. Villa boss Martin O'Neill has coveted Milner for some time and almost signed the player two years ago after a loan spell in the Midlands, for his part Milner said that he looked forward to working with O'Neill. He is the seventh player to join Villa this summer. Newcastle boss Kevin Keegan had initially said he would not sell the midfielder but admitted that he had made the decision to let him go.
