Real demand £32m for Robinho

Robinho's on-off move from Real Madrid will only happen if Chelsea up their offer to Real's valuation of £32m. The negotiations are crawling towards a conclusion, although Chelsea's second bid of £26m for the player has been rejected. They will now have to break the British transfer record to land the Brazilian playmaker. Peter Kenyon is expected to travel to Madrid for a second time in attempt to complete the deal as the transfer deadline of September 1 edges closer. (Guardian: 22/08/08)
