Redknapp keen on Carlos Cudicini
Tottenham's pursuit of Chelsea reserve goalkeeper Carlos Cudicini may have been given impetus by the performance of debutant keeper Ben Alnwick in Spurs' narrow Carling Cup victory over Burnley. But Luiz Felipe Scolari has told the stopper he has a future at Stamford Bridge, despite Tottenham's £1m bid.
The Chelsea boss has told Cudicini, who has been with the Blues for nine years, that he will not be sold in the transfer window, even though his contract expires at the end of the season. Scolari is worried that his regular keeper Petr Cech, has become injury prone in recent seasons and that his only other cover consists of Henrique Hilario and 18-year-old Rhys Taylor.
Harry Redknapp, on the other hand, is less than impressed with his goalkeeping options, which consist of Heurelho Gomes - who has shown signs of improvement after a deadful start to the season - Cesar Sanchez and Alnwick, who did not cover himself with glory against Burnley.
