Keane close to Spurs return, Saviola waits
12.50pm: The big story of the transfer window's final day could be Robbie Keane heading back to Spurs - provided Robinho doesn't head south in a massive swap deal with Chelsea.
After Rafa Benitez apparently made it clear that he didn't sanction the move for Keane last summer and Tottenham lost Jermain Defoe to a long term injury the deal has appeared to be on.
Spurs have reportedly made a cash only bid for the striker and the striker is, somehow, making his way through the snow to London to thrash out terms with Harry Redknapp.
He is also expected to undergo a medical at White Hart Lane when he arrives, although there are no details of the fee that has been agreed between the two clubs.
The niceties of any deal will be complicated by the fact that Liverpool have only paid a portion of the £20m fee they agreed for the player in the summer, when he headed from Spurs to Liverpool. Meaning that the Merseysiders still owe the Londoners several million pounds.
Any deal for Keane would also impact on the future of Javier Saviola, Real Madrid's Argentine striker. He was being lined up by Spurs in a loan deal. But if they do secure Keane they will end their interest in the player, but it is expected that he would then join Liverpool - possibly to take Keane's place on the bench.
