West Ham turn down Man City bid for Bellamy and Parker

West Ham have turned down a combined offer of £15 million for Craig Bellamy and Scott Parker from Manchester City. It is believed that the cash-strapped East London team want at least £12 million for Bellamy alone, and would prefer to sell fringe players like Luis Boa Morte and Julien Faubert than allow any of their star names to go. Mark Hughes, who has worked with 29-year-old Bellamy at both Blackburn and Wales, has set his sights on more realistic targets this January than the stellar names – such as Kaka, David Villa and Gianluigi Buffon – that City’s Abu Dhabi owners had originally mooted.
