A Chinese university student responds violently when his chances for a Nobel Prize are dashed by school politics.
Shi-Zheng Chen is an acclaimed Chinese theatre and opera director now based in the United States. With early training in traditional Chinese opera, he went to study at New York University in 1989. Dark Matter is his first feature film. It won the Alfred P. Sloan Feature Film Prize at the Sundance Film Festival, 2007.
