A young man becomes involved with an aristocratic family when he goes to stay at their estate. Julian Jarrold began his career as a TV director, making episodes of Children's Ward (1989) and Silent Witness (1997). After the TV movies Great Expectations (1999) and White Teeth (2002) he made his feature debut with Kinky Boots (2005). Becoming Jane (2007), the biopic of Jane Austen followed. Brideshead Revisited is his third feature.
