Two feisty, free-spirited women are connected by a brilliant, charismatic poet who loves them both. British filmmaker John Maybury made a series of independent films during his early career, among them The Court Of Miracles (1982) and Man To Man (1992). He has directed two episodes of the HBO TV series Rome (2007), as well as the more mainstream feature The Jacket (2005). That film's star, Keira Knightley, appears again for Maybury in The Edge Of Love.
