Maxwell Smart, a secret agent, battles the forces of an evil corporation with the help of the more-competent Agent 99. Peter Segal graduated from the USC School of Cinema-Television in 1994. As a director he specialises in comedy, with credits including Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult (1994), Tommy Boy (1995), Nutty Professor II: The Klumps (2000), Anger Management (2003), 50 First Dates (2004) and The Longest Yard (2005).
