During WW2, the eight-year-old son of the commandant at a concentration camp develops a relationship with a Jewish detainee. British filmmaker Mark Herman was BAFTA nominated for his feature Little Voice (1999), which he wrote and directed. His other credits include Blame It On The Bellboy (1992), Brassed Off (1996), Purely Belter (2000) and Hope Springs (2003). The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas is based on the novel by John Boyne.
