A young boy makes a snowman on Christmas Eve, only for it to come to life that night and take him on a magical adventure to the North Pole to meet Santa Claus. Dianne Jackson did not make many films during her career. Following The Snowman (1982), she made TV movie Granpa (1989) and directed episodes of The World Of Peter Rabbit And Friends (1997). She also worked in the art and animation department on the adaptations of Raymond Brigg's books When The Wind Blows (1986) and Father Christmas (1991).
