Spending the summer in a holiday camp with her family, Frances ('Baby') falls in love with the camp's dancing teacher. Following a string of TV movies, director Emile Ardolino's Dirty Dancing (1987), starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey, became an international phenomenon with female fans around the world. Ardolino found further success with 3 Men And A Little Lady (1990) and Sister Act (1993), but sadly died in 1993 from Aids.
