A one night stand leads to an unwanted pregnancy for a hapless couple. Judd Apatow was a roommate of Adam Sandler, and his first job was as a dish washer in a comedy club, which he took so that he could meet stand-up comics. As a writer, Apatow has worked on The Larry Sanders Show (1993-1998) and Freaks And Geeks (1999-2000). He also directed episodes for both series, and has since made The 40 Year Old Virgin (2005). Knocked Up is his second feature.
