A man known as Agent 47 is hired by a group known as The Agency to kill targets for cash. French filmmaker Xavier Gens worked as a trainee assistant director before writing and directing his own short films. He has since directed an episode of the TV series Sable Noir (2006) and the horror/thriller Frontiere(s) (2007). Hitman is his English-language debut, based on the popular video game.
